I can’t update my phone

I want to update my iPhone’s iOS version (it’s an IPhone XS) but whenever I go to the software update page in settings I get this message “Unable to check for update. An error occurred while checking for a software update” I kept trying again and it didn’t work, I searched things up on the internet and it didn’t work, this is my last bet, do you guys know what to do?

Make sure that your iPhone is connected to a WIFI Network. Make sure that your iPhone is charged more than 50%. Make sure that Low Power Mode is set to OFF. Make sure that VPN is OFF. Then try again.
