How to add back WiFi interface

Hello,

Initially my problem was my WiFi not being able to turn on. After following another forum I made my WiFi service inactive and deleted it from the interface using “-“ . I was then told to restart and add back the WiFi “+” but now I can’t find WiFi interface. And now my WiFi toolbar has an x over it.

I googled for other solutions and saw usage of “terminal” I ran commands “ifconfig-a” and it said that my en1 was inactive. I tried to activate it but it didn’t do anything.

I tried looking for other solutions but everything just confused me even more.

please help me out !

Launch the Apple System Profiler by Option-clicking the Apple menu and selecting the first item (should be something like "System Profiler" or "System Information").


If you click on "WiFi" under "Network" in the left pane do you see any hardware information for the WiFi card in the right pane? If not, then the WiFi card has failed which require the laptop to be repaired.


If the WiFi card is seen, then try booting into Safe Mode and adding the "WiFi" option in the Network Settings. If you still have problems, then create a new admin user account. Log into the new admin user to try and add the "WiFi" back. If this works, then you have some sort of software issue and/or user account issue with your main user account.
