My iPhone 7 doesn’t recognize my password or thumbprint.

i cannot log in to my phone. I’ve tried powering it off, removing and reinstalling the SIM card to no effect. How do I get it reset so I can use it?

Oddly after about 3 hours of letting it sit, it started working again. Thank you for your help. The -hone is on its last legs I fear. Some days the battery gets me through the day, On others it’ll die in a couple hours.
