How to get gold Apple Watch awards

first time workouts on apple watch shows on awards as silver, then there is something you can do over time to change that award to gold. What is it ? do I have to double calories burned, triple them during a repeat exercise? I really want to know specifically what has to be accomplished through a workout to acquire that color up level. I have managed to “color up” many of the workouts I do. However, there are about 4 that I have be completely unsuccessful in so. In addition, is a first time award ever given to any of the “other” activities: play, mixed cardio, kickboxing, dance for example? I have recorded these many times during very rigorous workouts and never gotten a first time award.

In order for to get the silver badge you have to do a workout once.

In order to get the gold badge for the same activity, if I recall correctly is to do 5 workout sessions (using the workout app) of that workout and that each of the five workouts must be of a higher calorie burn that the earlier workout.

So say you are doing indoor walk

workout 1 200 calories silver badge

workout 2 225

workout 3 230

workout 4 250

workout 6 260

workout 6 265

you get the gold badge

From then on it lists the highest calorie burn for that exercise.

It is not available for most type, just the basic ones

Indoor / outdoor walk (same badge)

Indoor / outdoor run (same badge)

Indoor / outdoor cycle (same badge)

Eliptical

Rowing

Stair Stepper

To my knowledge these are the only 6 that exist.
