I just tried to send $100 to my grandson and it’s asking him to verify his identity full name and Social Security number and drivers license number. The problem is he doesn’t have a drivers license why is it doing this? I have sent him $20 multiple times and it never asked him to verify??

To send and receive money with Apple Pay or receive the Apple Cash card, you must be 18 and a U.S. resident. These services are provided by Green Dot Bank, member FDIC. Security checks may require more time to make funds available.

I was using the Apple Pay button on text. You may be right it’s because I sent $100 in lieu of the $20 i usually send... I never knew there was a limit to where they had to put in a drivers license number.

Thank you so much for looking that up for me. He is 18 years old but unfortunately with this COVID-19 stay in place the DMV office in California has been closed so no drivers license… Driving test and everything have been put on hold.Thanks again for your help!

What app or service are you using?

It’s possible the service has increased security for transfers over a certain amount.
