Hardware Test on mid-2012 MacBook Pro

My fan won’t stop running on my MacBook Pro. I am running iOS 10.14.6 The Activity Monitor didn’t show anything unusual. I tried to reset the SMC and that made no difference so I did a Hardware Test. I got 3 messages

1- no battery detected

2- there may be an issue with SMC

3- there may be an issue with the camera

Is this fixable? Thanks in advance.

Whether this is reparable is your decision, as it’s your budget.

An ~eight year old Mac usually isn’t an auspicious platform for investing in repairs.

First, try resetting the SMC:

Yours does not have the T2 chip.
