Reset to factory settings
I'm trying to factory reset my grandfather's ipad but i dont know his password to his apple id, how can i reset it without using his password?

If you have reset your Grandfather’s iPad, you will likely have triggered the Activation Lock. To recover from this, you have no alternative other than to use his AppleID credentials.

if it's the passcode If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support
if it's the activation lock then that is on apples servers not on the ipad itself
