Contact your Carrier about Message Issues:

The carrier provides the proxies for sending the messages. IOW: The sender submits the SMS message, the carrier forwards it to you, on their behalf.

Depending on which type of group message, iMessage or SMS/MMS, if the needed network connection is not available, you may receive the message once the connection needed is available again.
