Mail quits when trying to select messages in the SPAM folder.

Mail v. 9.3 spontaneously quits/crashes when I select the messages in the SPAM folder for deletion.


The Crash report (truncated) says:

Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)

Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000

Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY


Application Specific Information:

*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSRangeException', reason: '*** NSRunStorage, _NSBlockNumberForIndex(): index (73) beyond array bounds (73)'

abort() called

terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException

...

Is there a PLIST or other file that can or should be deleted to stop this behavior?

Thank you for following up.


You mentioned that you're unable to get the message window back. Are you referring to being able to view a selected email? If so, from the Mail app, navigate to View > Show Side Preview. Then, make sure that there is a checkmark beside Show Side Preview. You can find more details here: Read emails in Mail on Mac.


If you're referring to something else, please provide a few more details about which message window you're unable to view.
