I've been watching PBS on my Apple TV 1st generation without a glitch from home here in Costa Rica.
Couple of days ago I did a "restore" of the system (by mistake; I wanted to do a "restart").....and now PBS App is gone. Disappeared from my screen.
I checked on the Main Menu and is not "hidden".
It's just not there anymore.
Any advise?
You have an Apple TV 3rd generation, please use Identify your Apple TV model in the future if you forget. Please update the Apple TV OS , you may have reverted to the oldest version and then re-test.

Could it be that the region for your account and device have changed? PBS should be available in the US and US territories, and I don’t think Costa Rica qualifies as such. Then the PBS ‘app’ wouldn’t be available there.
Is your software version 7.5 (12H885)? Then it is up-to-date.
Well, I brought this Apple TV from my house in US to my house in C.R. two years ago.
And watched PBS all this time with no problem.
Granted; several others Apps were and are geo-blocked, like HULU and MLS etc.
But I enjoyed PBS all this time, til couple of days ago when did the ¨restore¨.

Are you certain you are using an Apple TV (1st generation) (big white hot box)? Apple TV (1st generation) is completely incompatible with everything in 2020.

It´s not white and it´s not ¨big¨.
It´s black, and the remote is identical, only it´s silver, and has two lower buttons side by side instead of just one.
It says model: A1469

Will appreciate any other advise on the matter.
I don’t know what kind of checks PBS performs, but the restore my have triggered a new check?
