new macbook air

Is it a good idea to buy the Apple MacBook Air 13 inch 1,1‑GHz quad‑core i5 512 GB with 8GB ram now or should I wait until Big Sur is on new MacBooks? I'm asking because the spacegray edition doesn't seem to be popular and there is a discount of 100 euro compared to the silver edition

I know an i7 processor will be better and 8GB memory is an absolute minimum, but this MacBook will only be used with simple applications.
