Should I wait to buy?

For context I am a student looking for a 13 inch MacBook Pro. I will do schoolwork, light gaming and video editing with Final Cut Pro. I need 256gb of storage and 16gb of ram. I know Apple is transitioning to arm chips in their Macs and I’m not sure if I should wait or buy. Will the new Mac come with advantages and disadvantages then the intel Mac?

You could be waiting a year for a new MBP. If you can afford to wait a year then wait, you don't need a new machine. If you need a new machine now, then you can't afford to wait. And yes, any new Mac will come with 'advantages and disadvantages' compared to any other Mac. What they might be? No one knows, and no one will know until after it's released. Which could be a year or more. And so we circle around...

If you need a new computer: buy one.

If you can wait a year: then you don't need a new computer.
