my iPhone XR was thrown out the window of a car and busted to pieces. I have since received a new one and am trying to set up the new phone but it requests a verification code that it will send to my old phone but I can’t access anything on my old phone
what do I do?

I have recently tried to help another user with the same issue. If you are not given any option to send code to computer or other device, then I suggest you contact Apple directly by clicking on Contact Support at upper right corner of any forum page.
