Epson Stylus Photo R2880 Catalina Update
Trying to use the subject printer, I need to update my driver. How can I do this? Epson's website doesn't seem to give a direct answer.

Try the following:
Reset the printing system by following the directions in Reset the printing system
Add the printer by following the directions in Add a printer on Mac - Apple Support
I have found from experience that using a printer manufacturer's apps is not desirable as the manufacturers do not keep them up-to-date. By following the directions aboveyou are removing the printer and then re-adding it. This should work fine. I would then uninstall any Epson apps you may have installed.
