When I save a number spreadsheet, sometimes the saved file icon is a square shape, and sometimes it has the upper right corner folded over. Why? What is the meaning of one versus the other? Is there any way to stick with one shape or the other? (Yes, I have OCD tendencies).

Just a note, following a quick scan of a folder containing .numbers files…
All of the 'files' with dog-eared blank page icons were aliases to files whose location was not known. Other files (and possibly other aliases) had square corners, and a thumbnail image of the contents of what would be the first page if the document were printed.

A Folded Corner:
A shortcut icon has a folded corner, so it’s most likely a shortcut you created, somehow, using “Save As...”.
