Giving away a mac

I was erasing my hard drive on a mac and followed the instructions from above. When I started my machine and pressed command R I released the keys once the logo and line under it appeared. Then, I was prompted to choose my language. Is my drive erased?

Yes. The choose a language screen is the first step for the next user to use in setting it up.
