Charging cord and power adapter

I have a 13" MacBook Pro 2018 and new a new charging cord and power adapter. How do I know what wattage to get? The old one doesn't list wattage?

Did you read the info at the link I provided?

From the link 2nd paragraph:

"Power adapters for Mac notebooks are available in 29W, 30W, 45W, 60W, 61W, 85W, 87W, and 96W varieties. You should use the appropriate wattage power adapter for your Mac notebook. You can use a compatible higher wattage power adapter without issue, but it won't make your computer charge faster or operate differently. If you use a power adapter that is lower in wattage than the adapter that came with your Mac, it won't provide enough power to your computer."

Not really. If you're on AC and running something that's putting a heavy load on your processors, the Mac may draw from the battery as well. If you're also connected to bus-powered peripherals then the extra power may mean slightly less concurrent draw on the battery. But the frequency/likelihood of that happening is low, thus no real benefit.

As for using a lower wattage adapter, although I would not use one all the time, it's fine occasionally. I sometimes use a 61 W adapter with my 15" MBP (which 'requires' the 87 W adapter), and although it charges more slowly, it does power the computer and charge the battery.
