how to power mac book while backing up to external drive?

How can I maintain power on the Mac Book when the same USB-C has to be used for the portable storage device connection?

You need a USB-C hub or dock with power pass-through. Here’s an example.

Thanks, I had to buy 2T on iCloud to send the unit in for repair, but I will buy this device for future use.
