the download for Yosemite on this support page DOES NOT WORK

I have an older iMac (2009) and I never updated from Mavericks. Now, when I try to update to El Capitan, I am told I FIRST have to upgrade to Yosemite, but the Yosemite app is NO WHERE to be found. Every link I find does not work, even the one on the Apple support page!
