Iphone 7 updated to IOS 13.6 and stuck on apple screen

Hey everyone,

My buddy has an Iphone 7 and recently updated to IOS 13.6 and his phone is now stuck on the white loading screen with the apple logo. We have tried doing the factory reboot (Power button and volume down) but it keeps going back to the loading screen and won't change.

We have also put it in safe mode and used Itunes to update the phone but a little over half way through the update it will state "The Iphone '[insert name]' could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (14)." And we have now attempted to do that 3 times.

He does not have a back up on his phone and would like to try and get it to work with out resetting his phone to factory settings. Has anyone had the same issue? Or does anyone know how to fix this issue?

We appreciate your time and help guys. But for the mean time he is out of a phone.

Ensure that iTunes is up to date and current.
Ensure that USB to Lightning cable is in good condition. Better yet, use another cable.
Reboot your computer
Try the process with your iPhone 7 again after you have checked the 3 points above.

Hey Axel,

Thanks for getting back so quickly.

I have insured my itunes is current and up to date. So it seems like that isn't the issue.

I rebooted my PC and used a different cable, both of which are from the iphone (not aftermarket) and it fails at the same point with the same error message. It updates and then goes to verifying update and after it goes through the whole loading bar it fails once again.

Is there anything else you might be able to think of?

Follow the instructions in this article by Apple ➔ If your iPhone is Non-Responsive or Frozen and see if that helps. You may be following the same procedure listed in the link however if you are not then please follow it.

These iTunes errors are mostly difficult to deal with because they are classified as unknown error. Found some good information in this link that I recommend you should review ➔ Running into iTunes error 14? How to fix it.
