Deleting or modifying personal certificate authority

Hi,

I have perviously created a personal certificate authority in keychain and now want to modify or delete and recreate with correct details.

I can create a new one with different name but I want to use the name which I created earlier.

I could'n find any options to delete or modify. I found steps to delete a certificate but not a CA.

Could anyone help to advise how to delete or modify the personal certificate authority.

Just delete also would do as I can recreate with same name with correct details.

Thanks.

-Vipul.

Hello vipulkuruppu,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. From your message it sounds like you've been able to create a certificate authority in Keychain Access on your Mac, but have been unable to remove it and recreate it using the same name.

In Keychain Access you'll see the search box in the top right corner. If you search for the name of the Certificate Authority, you should be able to open any folders, delete the keys inside by right clicking and selecting delete. You can then also delete the folders. Once deleted you should be able to create a new Certificate Authority by following these steps: Create your own certificate authority in Keychain Access on Mac.

All the best.
