Cannot update apps with data on new iPhone 11Pro since lost phone is trusted source of the old ID. Does anyone know the Work around??

If you can't get a code, you need to do account recovery.
I think this is where you are. See Recover your Apple ID when you can’t reset your password https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204921 which you may need to use.
“Account recovery might take a few days or longer, depending on the specific account information you can provide to verify your identity. After you request account recovery, you'll get an email with a confirmation of your request and the date and time of when you can expect to regain access. … When the wait period is over, Apple sends you a text or automated phone call with instructions to regain access to your account.” Read the whole document carefully.
Can you log in with the old ID? Do you need a verification code?

System sends code to trusted device (iPhone6); this is the missing device. No ability to choose another device from the circle of Apple devices once linked, no longer a choice from - iPad, MAC, iPhone 7.
Lost device was iphone 6.
Now have 11 Pro replacement for the 6.
11Pro wants to send code to 6 - ???
Now only choice is to implement timely process with Apple, correct?
