I can’t update the firmware from my AirPods 2 A1523 ?

I have found some info online -

Current firmware -

1st gen: 6.8.8 (December, 2019)[2]

2nd gen & Pro: 2D15 (May, 2020)

So you have 1st gen AirPods not 2nd gen as you said.

The model number you provided A1523 suggests you have 1st gen AirPods not 2nd gen

Model number: A1523, A1722

Year introduced: 2017

So your first generation AirPods which are running firmware 6.8.8 are up to date

What firmware are you running?

There is no way to force an update, this is the best thing to do is - 

Put the ‌‌AirPods‌‌ in the case

Connecting the ‌‌AirPods‌‌ to a power source

Pairing the ‌‌AirPods‌‌ to an iPhone or an iPad should force the update after a short period of time.

6.8.8 is not the firmware, the firmware will be 2D15 or something similar.

Can you post a screenshot of the info from your AirPods, make sure to hide the serial number

6.8.8 might be the hardware version.

The latest firmware for AirPods 2nd generation is 2D15.
