Multiple users under single Apple ID?

There is an article that explains how to have multiple Apple ID accounts on one device.

But it doesn't show any way to have multiple users (like the Netflix "Who's watching?" system) under a single Apple ID.

We share one Apple ID in my household. We frequently watch the same shows, just not always together. When my teenager binges a series, it messes up my place in that queue.

Can we have separate "Up Next" lists under one Apple ID?

appleID is meant as the sole indicator of a person, like an apple social security number, it's not meant to be shared and there are many things which does not really function with it's shared like all users share the same call log and they can't facetime each other and get the same imessages. apple made family sharing in order to address the reason some would wish to share it https://www.apple.com/family-sharing/

I doubt they are taking extra steps for making it easy to share it under the appleTV

but you can advice them to change their appleID vision using their feedback channel
