New Macbook Air 2020 isn't eligible for AppleCare?

Hi, I bought a brand new Macbook Air 2020 from an authorised retailer two weeks ago. I've set it up, logged into iCloud etc. so it's all attached to my iCloud account. I logged into the Apple website to purchase AppleCare (Apple says you can do this within 60 days of purchasing the device). Apple's website shows this device as being available and eligible for AppleCare, but when I select the device to purchase AppleCare, it then says it's not eligible. Super weird.

Has anyone else come across this before? Is it just that the reseller took delivery of my device more than 60 days ago and so Apple thinks it's been too long?
