why won't screen captures open in preview?

If you take a screen capture, highlight the file and press Command- i

in the info panel that pops up under Open with what is it set to,

if not already set to Preview change it and press on Change All.

Well that is a bigger problem than the one you first mentioned.

First of all have you restarted your mac.
