Removing passcode - recovery mode scene does not appear

Is there any other way to recover/restore or delete passcode.

Have iPhone 7 not yet activated as I cannot remember the passcode. I followed all the instructions

i.e. pressed till slide off appeared, kept phone 4 feet from computer which is on, however then

nothing happens. I have never had an iPhone before. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

If you have forgotten your Lock Screen passcode, or if a message says that your device is disabled, learn what you need, what you get and what is lost.

You need a computer to follow these steps. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend.
