Apple Watch series 4 (gps+lte)

I recently bought an Apple Watch series 4, yesterday i called and tried to get the watch set up with my phone service provider but was told they cannot set up service with this watch and they don’t know why. Does anyone know if there is a way to look up my watch’s IMEI number to find out if it is in fact a cellular one or if it’s carrier locked???
