Why won't it download? I have enough storage
Is the installer in your /Applications folder (called something like Installer macOS..)?
If so, try to run it from there.
Clutching at straws a bit now ...
Try running Disk Utilities > First Aid on the internal drive.
Perhaps there's some corruption that is stopping you being able to run the installer.
You could also try downloading and installing the free version of Malwarebytes in case your Mac has some malware in it.
No unfortunately there isn't, the only thing related to that is the Mac OS Catalina folder but it won't let me click it
That screenshot shows the installer being downloaded; the partial pie icon shows it's about 1/8 through. You can't run it until it's fully downloaded.
it downloads completely every time, it just doesn't install/ no window opens with further installation of the software update it just exits itself with no warning
Im trying to download the Mac OS Catalina on my 2015 MacBook Pro. it downloads and then nothing happens, when I look at the App Store it gives me the option to download again but all it does is download and disappear as if it didn't download.
