System administrator issues

My MacBook was set up at my school and the school is the System Administrator (I own the computer). I would like to wipe the laptop to trade it in but I need the system administrator name and password, which I do not have, to do so. What do I do?

But after taking it home and trying to download something for college it told me that I needed a password to do so. After looking, it told me I needed an administrator password.
