I recently got a new iPhone. I restored from iCloud, but some of the apps won’t install. They all seem to be Apple apps - like mail, calendar, contacts, maps, notes, music etc. Other apps restored fine, either from iCloud or from AppStore (which did install) I have tried signing in and out of iCloud, restarting etc. any ideas?

The apps you listed are built in Apple apps that come with the phone. What do you mean that they are not installing? Is it that the data that you had in these apps is not transferring?
Hi. When I try to open the affected apps, I get a message: “Unable to install calendar (for eg), please try again later”
That is odd. The only thing I can think of would be to try restoring it as new without reloading a backup and see what happens. You may also want to contact Apple directly using the contact support link at the top of the page for help.
Thanks. I’ll see if I can get through to Apple support. Not having much luck with them here in South Africa
