Empty text bubbles from some android users
When I receive text messages from some android users, the responses are small empty text bubbles, see attached. This is consistent for individual contacts but not all android users.

Thanks for posting! We see that some of your SMS are coming in as blank bubbles, and it seems to happen consistently with a few specific contacts. Is that right?
As a start, make sure you've updated your device to iOS 13.6, and then update your carrier settings:

If you're finding this continues to happen, we recommend that you get in contact with your wireless carrier. They will be in the best position to assist with any SMS/test message issues.
