Can I use a DRM-protected sone in my iphotos slideshow?

Do I need a work-around?

I worked with Apple Support on the phone. If you buy the song from Itunes instead of downloading it for free from Apple, then there's no DRM-protected issue. Since I had already downloaded certain songs for free, I had to delete them from my library and buy them anew from Itunes. It worked very well.

It is not possible, because using the song in a slideshow would allow you to export it in another format and remove the protection. You cannot use the songs downloaded from Apple Music either, for the same reason.

You can use newer songs you purchased from the iTunes Store in the iTunes + format, older songs may still have the protection.
