keyboard won't fully charge

My keyboard will only charge to 63%. Any reason it won't fully charge?

Magic Keyboard not charging My keyboard will not charge beyond about 20% even though I leave it to charge for several hours. It is still functioning via Bluetooth. Looking at Bluetooth settings it shows up greyed out. It is a fairly old keyboard, maybe 6 years old so perhaps the battery is failing.

Smart Keyboard When I plug the charger into the keyboard, it says “not charging”. Anyone else getting that? I am using an Apple original USB-C charger.

Most likely needs a new battery. What keyboard? If it’s an Apple Magic Keyboard, Apple charges $29 to replace the battery.
