I installed catalina on my mac. I am a single mother doing a phd working three jobs to do so. I scraped money together to buy a mac because I thought it would increasee my productivity. My computeer keeps shutting down and restarteed resulting in me losing my entire thesis proposal.
What can I do. I need to rewrite my entire thesis proposal. I need to uninstall this stupid glitchy software

It is not likely macOS is causing that problem. Besides, even a spontaneous shutdown should never cause work to be lost.
More investigation is needed. Reverting macOS to an earlier version will not help.

It's not possible to uninstall Catalina but it is possible to erase a disk and then install an older version - you will need your data backed-up beforehand, though, if you don't want to lose personal data.
I'm concerned about the loss of your thesis proposal. What happened? Perhaps I can help you find it again. It might be 'hiding' rather than 'lost'.
I dont feel very heard here. I installed the software. It caused my computer to restart (it is still doing it). I have rewritten my work and put save automat after 1 minute on my thesis document. The computer just retarted again and guess what. I lost all my work again!!!!

I provided those instructions, but as I wrote it is not likely macOS is causing that problem. Contact Apple to request service.
