Electronic chip should have more lifetime than this. Is Apple considering recall to fix this, looks like it happened to a lot of people. At least escalate to issue to have internal discussion and not call it user error. Really disappointed!

Perhaps. If your device qualifies (which it may not), Apple would repair it, and almost certainly not replace it.
