iphone wifi password

Tried all reset options but my iPhone will not accept router password. Wifi on my mac is OK so trouble is not with the router. This happened after turning on hotspot. I disabled hotspot but can't get my home wifi back on my phone. I have posted this before but can't retrieve a reply (went through 67 Pages and gave up). How can you find your post, I searched the exact title???

Thank you for your advice... although these are the things that I've tried in the past 6 days with resets and contact with both my internet and phone providers. My iPhone 7plus does not have the feature "forget this network". I'm thinking this is a glitch with software not acknowledging the correct password which is displayed on the router. So I called Apple Support and was on hold for 40 min waiting for tech rep who led me through the same things and then he hung up or something because we got disconnected. After wasting hours and hours I'm ready to throw the phone away, I can still get on wifi with my mac. He needed to send a code or a diagnostic to my phone but seemed not knowledgeable enough to accomplish it. I'm unsure if I want to go through that again. If you have any other helpful suggestions, I'm forever grateful....

Hey there, sun128.

After reviewing your post, it appears that your iPhone isn't accepting the password to join your home's Wi-Fi network. It started after you turned on Personal Hotspot on but it's still happening after you turned it off. We're glad to help with this.

Thanks for getting back to us with that information, sun128. It's appreciated.

If you're not able to forget the network because the setting isn't there, there may be a problem with the operating system. We'd like for you to reinstall the iOS.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -- Before proceeding, please be sure to have a fresh backup to keep your personal information safe.

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch -- We'd like for you to reinstall iOS. The section titled "Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again" will walk you through all the steps to reinstall iOS software on your device. See if the Forget Network is there.
