Parental control not sending notifications for family sharing child

I have my child on family sharing for under 13. He has to ask my permission to download anything from the Apple store. It worked great for a few days and I would receive a notification for me to accept or deny. Now it doesn’t work and I don’t receive any notifications at all. Now he can’t download anything on his iPad. What can I do to start getting the permission notifications to come to me again?
