Movie purchases not available in Itunes

We have a number of movies which are visible in the purchase history but are not available to watch. They are not hidden. How can I access these movies?

Hey wendell133,

Thanks for providing that info and going through those steps. Changing the country of your iTunes Store can definitely have an impact on this issue. If you look at the steps under “What to do before you change your country or region” from Change your Apple ID country or region, it says “Redownload your apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books on any devices that you might use to play or read them in the future. That's because some types of content might not be available in your new country or region. (Learn what types of content and services are available in your new country or region.)”

So that may be why you’re seeing the option to purchase the movies instead of download them and this would be expected behavior.

You may be able to change your country back and see if you can download your past purchases then switch back once more which may resolve this.

Regards.

Hey there wendell133,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’re having issues watching some movies that have been purchased on your account. We’ll be happy to help with this.

Have you tried downloading these movies from your past purchases? If not, follow the steps here and see if this works:

Redownload apps, music, movies, TV shows, and books

If that doesn’t work, use the following link to help you verify if the movies in question are still available in the iTunes Store for your region. Be sure to adjust the Media Type and check your Country or Region as well:

iTunes Link Maker

If that doesn’t help, let us know what device and OS you’re attempting to watch your purchases on and what happens when you try to download them.

Take care.

Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately when I go to download the films from itunes it only gives the option to purchase them again. The films are available on the itunes link maker. Is there something I can do with this? I'm not familiar with this tool.

One example of a film that has disappeared is Moana. So quite recent and easily available. Other films purchased around the same time (e.g. frozen) are still available and working fine.

Will it matter that I am now in Malaysia but the films were probably bought via the UK itunes store (I now use the Malaysia Itunes store)? If so how do I resolve this issue?
