It may have started when I last updated iOS but all notification banners appear off-centre. I can’t read the notification when it appears as I can only see the edge of it, the rest is off screen. Especially the one that says "No backups for 16 days" -- it appears but the "close" or 'open" portions of the notification are off-screen, so I cannot close it. It never goes away either.

Try joggling the resolution in Sys Prefs>Displays back & forth.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
