Concern Over Possible iPhone Data Breach via Text from Hotmail Sender

Recently, I received two text messages, two days apart, on my iPhone 11.

    • Both were from two unknown hotmail email addresses.
    • Both read, "Hi Are You There?"
    • I did not click on any links.
    • I did not respond with any personal information.
    • However, I did reply to one text with, "Hi who is this?"

After researching online, I'm concerned that even replying with a simple "who is this?" may have allowed some sort of hack or access to my data.

If that is true: What can I do about it? Is there a way to determine if I've been compromised apart from waiting for possible signs? Is there software to identify an/or resolve a breach for iPhone?

Apart from any potential issue with my reply:

  • How should I handle the current messages?
  • What should I do in the future with a similar message?

Thank you so much.
