Hello! No matter the command or buttons I use in Photos, I get spinning wheel of doom. Every action takes forever to load but I have plenty of RAM, photos stored externally with plenty of space and have deleted all duplicate photos. Options in preferences are limited so nothing I can really adjust there. Has someone cracked the secret here? Thank you !

What system and Photos versions are you running?
Where is your library located? If on an external HD how is that drive formatted and connected to your iMac?
As a test launch Photos with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and test to see if the same problem persists. Does it? (This tells us if the problem is limited to your current library or is more wide spread)
Next log into another admin user account, Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac, and see if the problem persists. (This tells us if the problem is limited to your user account or is system wide).

Thanks for the quick reply! OS Catalina 10.15.6. Library is stored on a Seagate Drive with 850GB/3TB used. USB External Physical Volume • Mac OS Extended (Journaled) When creating a new library, the problem is resolved. It appears its with this specific library on the Seagate drive. Any suggestions?
Did you install the software that came with the Seagate drive? If you did uninstall it according to the developer's instructions.
Do you have the iCloud Library enabled with your library. If not try launching the library with the Option+Command keys held down to repair the library.
Do you have a backup strategy enabled, i.e. Time Machine or some other type?
