My new MacBook is loading incredibly slow - we are talking modem slow. I ran EtreCheck Pro and the major issue was I had Apple, Avast and Malwarebytes installed. Would this be enough to slow the computer that much? I am hesitant to delete Avast and Malwarebytes - is the installed Apple that good?

Held down the Power button for 60 seconds which helped; deleted Avast Security and a miracle happened - so much faster! Thank you very, very much!!!!
Usually when new Macs are setup, many new programs and software such as iCloud Drive, Photos, App Store, etc. are all setting up, which may temporarily reduce the speed of your Mac. If you would like insight on what programs are slowing down your Mac, use Activity Monitor. Within Activity Monitor, there will be a list of programs running along with their CPU usage. You don't have to uninstall anything, just give it time :)
You should definately uninstall Avast. Antivirus apps are not needed. As far as Malwarebytes, you could leave it installed but I would disable real time protection.

FWIW, I agree with dialabrain. AVAST definitely needs to be uninstalled.
