Final Cut Pro split screen weirdness

i’m going to try to explain this the best I can.


I did a split screen with transform/crop tool. Two videos side by side.


But at one point in the timeline, the screen itself has been divided in half.

For instance, if I slide one of the videos left or right, the selected video will begin to disappear off of it’s designated half of the screen, rather than moving into the other half of the screen as normal.


Does anyone know what this is, and how to disable it?

You have two videos stacked in the timeline, right? You are adjusting size, position, trim...

If you move clip B so that its frame intersects that of clip A, a part of B will be covered by A...


If you could show us the timeline and inspector, or show us a screenshot of the viewer with the Transform tool active, it may be clearer.


If you are concerned about protecting the privacy of your content, you can do a reproduction of your settings with some dummy content, like a placeholder.
