Hi tech-sperts!
I have recorded a very important video in Photobooth, that I can't record again, and I have gone to play it and there is no sound. I have looked at all of the solutions on Mac but nothing has worked. I checked and my mic seems fine and is using the built-in mic. Any suggestions? Someone said to try VLC but I am worried downloading it might bring a virus. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply. I recorded a test and it had sound. Afterwards to test my speakers I recorded a video and it had sound. For some reason there is no audio recorded on this particular video. I’m not sure why? I checked system preferences first and it says I am using my internal (built in) microphone. I have transferred the video to a windows computer and there is still no sound. It’s such a shame because it’s not the kind of video I can record again... Any other ideas?

Unfortunately it sounds like there was no audio recorded on the video. Nothing can be done about that.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you're having trouble with audio for a video you recorded using Photo Booth on your Mac. We are happy to share information that may help.
First, check your settings. Navigate to menu > System Preferences > Input. If you were using the internal microphone on your Mac to record audio, be sure that you see that listed.
If you're unable to hear any audio from your Mac speakers, take a look at the steps here: If the internal speakers on your Mac aren't working.
Another step to take to isolate the issue is to record a new video, and play it back. Were you able to hear audio in that video?
Also, check to see if you have any Bluetooth devices paired with your Mac. If you do, unpair them, and try again to play the video.
Finally, if you're still having trouble with this, please reply and let us know if you're only experiencing audio issues with this video, or if you are unable to hear any audio from your Mac.
