iPad Hacked

My ipad air is on activation lock.

My old iCloud ID has been hacked and is not retrievable anymore.

I have made a new iCloud ID on my iPhone and I need to reset my ipad and set it up with my new iCloud ID.

I request your help for the above.

Regardless of the AppleID that you intend to use later, you’ll need the original AppleID and associated password that was used to previously activate the iPad. Without these, you’ll not be able to release the Activation Lock.

Moving forward, don’t attempt to create and use a different AppleID until the Activation Lock issue is resolved - you’ll make matters worse.

If your device is Activation Locked, this help page will provide most of the information that you’ll need:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201365

If you have forgotten your AppleID or associated password, these can be recovered here:

https://iforgot.apple.com

To recover your credentials, you’ll need access to one of the following:

  • Your primary email address mailbox that corresponds with your AppleID
  • Any of the secondary/recovery email addresses that should be configured for your AppleID account
  • Any of the trusted telephone numbers (fixed line or Cellular/Mobile) that are associated with your AppleID

Unless you AppleID account has not been fully/correctly configured, or has been seriously neglected, recovery of the AppleID and password should not be difficult.

More information about recovery of your AppleID:

More information about recovery of your AppleID password:

When you recover access to your credentials, you would be well advised to log-in to your AppleID account from a web browser - and verify/update any email addresses and trusted telephone numbers:

https://appleid.apple.com

If you do consider using a new AppleID, be aware that all Apps, Subscription services and Media purchases from Apple are forever associated with the AppleID from which they are purchased. If you create and use a new AppleID, you will lose access to previously purchased materials. Far better to recover your original AppleID account - and update it with new primary/secondary email addresses and trusted telephone numbers as necessary.

I hope this information and guidance proves to be helpful in resolving any issues.
