I have an individual email that keeps opening and closing endlessly.

How can I either delete the individual email, or stop it? I composed a reply to an email. When I tried to send it, it just opens and closes in an endless loop. I can quit the app, but when I reopen it, the loop starts again. I have tried starting in safe mode, but that did not help. Thanks.

Hey there, ABStrange!

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. We see that there is an email you've received and replied to that keeps popping up on its own whenever you're in the Mail app. We'd be happy to help!

To get the message to stop popping up, we recommend going through the following steps, testing between:

  1. Quit the Mail app: Quit apps on Mac - Apple Support, restart your Mac: How to turn your Mac on or off - Apple Support, then reopen Mail while holding shift on your keyboard.
  2. See if the message continues to show up in safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac.
  3. Head to your email provider's webmail site and try to delete or move the message in question there.

Best!
