Email glitch

Mail app keeps opening last read email even though I move back to the Inbox and then close app

Completely close the Mail app and then Try the following:

Open Settings ➡️ Mail ➡️ Accounts: Here, Turn OFF Mail in every email account and then turn Turn it back ON again. You may have to authenticate the mail account password(s) again. Open the Mail app and then see whether this resolves the issue.

(1) Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

  • Press and quickly release Volume UP button
  • Press and quickly release Volume DOWN button
  • Press and Hold the SIDE button until an Apple logo appears and then release the Side button (Can take up to 20 seconds. (DO NOT release Side Button when invited to Slide Power OFF). 

(2)  If the above does not work then - Have you updated to iOS version 16 yet? If NOT then do so and see whether that resolves the issue.
