Hi, I'm trying to screen mirror from my ipad to a Sony Bravia TV but are not sure on what app to use as the airbeam app I purchased doesn't work. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

When are you looking? You have to start playing a video before the AirPlay icon appears. Here's a screenshot of the TV app playing the start of a movie. (The movie itself doesn't show due to DRM, but the icon is in the red star in the lower left corner in this shot.)
You should not need a separate iPad app to AirPlay or Cast from the Apple TV app on an up-to-date iPad to an up-to-date Sony Bravia. (I think the AirPlay support was only added to recent Bravia models within the last year.) Use the AirPlay icon or the Cast icon within the Apple TV app and select the Sony TV as the receiving device, not the generic screen mirror function in the Control Center.
Thanks for the response. I have it so far and confirmed that IPad and Tv is on same WiFi network but can’t see the TV (software up to date) in the Aidplay display. The TV model is KD-55X7500F approx 18 months old.
Are you sure that model is AirPlay-capable? In the web specifications page for that model, the closest thing I see is Google Chromecast, which is similar in concept but not interoperable.
If yours is in fact AirPlay-capable, you may have to enable that function through the menu system on the TV.
We have a Sony Bravia TV of similar vintage which can handle either AirPlay or Chromecast, but it is a different model. It got AirPlay2 support in a recent update.
Some iOS/iPadOS apps can handle ChromeCast instead of AirPlay, while some offer both. Apple tends to focus on their own AirPlay protocol, so builtin screen mirroring and the TV app offer only AirPlay icons. Regrettably, I have no experience with separate apps for enabling Chromecast-based mirroring.
Yeah, Sony has been pretty poor at providing support for their TVs. They announced over a year ago that they would support AirPlay and then they only add it to a couple of models and only in April of this year. I have the same TV and unfortunately it isn't supported...yet. Fingers crossed.
I don't know how you would do it with an ipad but on a Mac, I use AirBeam. Not as good as native AirPlay and can be temperamental but it works.

Thanks once again. No I am not sure the model is airplay capable (becoming convinced it is not). Anyone know of app that can be used to connect my Ipad with the Sony TV model KD-55X7500F?
