Can I close my MacBook Pro while uploading a large file to iCloud? Will that do any damage?

I am in the process of uploading a large file to iCloud and it slow going. I am okay with the file size and I cannot stop the upload because the X is greyed out. Could I just close my laptop for the night and go to bed? Will that cause damage to my computer?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Hello Allytheevil,

It sounds like you asking if you can close your computer while it is uploading a file to iCloud. If you close the computer and it does to sleep it would stop the uploading process, however you could always change the Energy Saver settings so your computer could continue uploading. Check out these links to learn more about energy saver settings and Power Nap feature.
